To be a Citibank credit cardmember, you must be a Hong Kong residents aged 18 or above. There’s a minimal annual income standard so make sure you meet it. For example, the minimum annual income for Citi Rewards Card and Citi Octopus Credit Card is HK$150,000. The minimum annual income for Citi PremierMiles Card and Citi Cash Back Card is HK$240,000 while that for Citi Prestige Card is HK$600,000. In addition, the credit limit will dictate which Citibank credit card type you qualify for.
Non-Hong Kong residents can also apply as long as they supply a copy of their valid passport, or an exit-entry permit for travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau, along with a copy of the Certification of the Place of Permanent Right of Abode.
You can make payments either in person at the branch, using PPS, using the monthly autopay service or by mail, as well as via all JETCO ATMs.
In general, it takes about five to 14 working days for the banks to review your application if you have submited all the neccessary documents. However, you should note that if the required documents and/or application information are not provided within a specific period of time from the date of the application, and/or the relevant requirement(s) is not met, the Bank reserves the right to cancel or not to proceed with your application. Therefore, you should prepare all necessary documents before you submit an application.
You can create a Citibank Online User ID and password using your redit card or ATM Card with ATM PIN. After you sign on to Citi ThankYou Rewards, you can search for flights, hotels, car rentals, merchandise, gift vouchers and redeem your rewards directly with Points.
