Octopus Credit Card Top-Up Cashback
Do Octopus credit card top-ups earn cashback?
Yes, but the cashback rate is usually lower than regular spending. For example, the HSBC Red Credit Card offers 1% cashback on local spending, but only 0.4% cashback for both Octopus Automatic Add Value (AAVS) and manual top-ups via mobile wallets. However, some credit cards provide higher rewards, such as the ANZ EarnMore Credit Card (1% cashback) and the Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard (HK$6 per mile for AAVS). If you frequently use Octopus top-ups, these cards are great options.
