The Simply Cash Visa Card is a simple and accessible option for those who prefer straightforward money management without complex rewards programmes. With a minimum annual income requirement as low as HK$96,000, it’s one of the more accessible credit cards on the market. Enjoy 1.5% cashback on local spending and 2% on overseas transactions, with no caps or category restrictions. The card is annual fee-free for the first year (HK$2,000 thereafter) and is part of the Visa Signature network, making it suitable for frequent travellers or those who prefer fuss-free cashback.
Standard Chartered’s reward programme, known as “360° Rewards”, applies to select cards like the Manhattan card and older cashback cards. Cardholders can earn points through spending and redeem them for cash vouchers, gifts, electronics, travel perks, and more. Many credit cards allow conversion of points to miles, such as 25,000 points for 1,000 Asia Miles (HK$300 handling fee per redemption). Redemptions must be in multiples of 1,000 miles.
Points are valid for three years, after which they expire automatically. Users can log into online banking to view the expiry date by clicking on the credit card management option. Please note that cashback cards like the Smart Credit Card and Simply Cash Visa Card are not eligible for the points system. Instead, cashback is manually redeemed through the “360° Rewards” platform and is not automatically credited to your card account.
Standard Chartered credit card holders can convert large transactions into instalments using the following steps:
Log in to online banking or the SC Mobile App, go to the "Credit Card" section, and select "Instalment Plan".
Choose the transaction and desired tenure (e.g., 3, 6, 12, 24 months).
The system will instantly show your monthly repayment and total interest.
Confirm your selection to complete the application. You'll receive an SMS or email confirmation upon approval.
Standard Chartered also regularly offers 0% interest instalment plans and low-interest cash advance promotions. Be sure to consider your repayment ability and check the APR before applying.
Smart Visa Card holders earn 5% cashback at selected merchants like Klook, Deliveroo, Watsons, Circle K, PARKnSHOP, and Japan Home Centre — no registration required. The system automatically recognises eligible transactions.
